The Trinity is the leading engine tune up shop in Brampton. ON. When a vehicle’s engine isn’t performing as it should, or if you noticed decreased gas mileage, it may be time for an engine tune up. Engine tune ups should be done on all vehicles periodically to ensure that the filters on your vehicle are not blocked, that the spark plugs are firing correctly and are not cracked, that the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valves are in good working order, and that the fuel injectors are not blocked. All of these can factors can contribute to poor engine performance and reduced gas mileage. Our mechanics in Brampton. ON provide engine tune ups on almost all makes and model of cars and light trucks. There are many complex, working parts in your engine.  These parts all work together to ensure that your vehicle runs properly. With time and mileage, these components can become blocked and/or start to wear out. When this happens, it is time to take your vehicle in for an engine tune up. It is important to note that even if your vehicle is running well, the manufacturer of your vehicle has made recommendations as to when engine tune ups should be performed on your vehicle. Refer to the owner’s manual that came with your vehicle for these recommendations. If you notice any of the following with your vehicle, it may be time for an engine tune up:

Decreased gas mileage – A decrease in gas mileage could be the result of a blocked air or fuel filter.  If your vehicle isn’t getting enough air, the engine won’t perform as it should, which means it is not running at peak performance. Both the air filter and fuel filter are replaced as part of an engine tune up.

Decrease in power – A decrease in power could be the result of a blocked, broken, and/or malfunctioning filter, spark plug, Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve or fuel injector.  If the fuel isn’t getting into the engine properly, the engine will not output the power that it should. The spark plugs are replaced and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valves may be checked as part of an engine tune up.

Vehicle stalls and/or makes noise (sputters/knocks) – When a vehicle stalls and/or sputters, it can oftentimes be a result of fuel not properly going into the engine or the spark plugs not functioning correctly, which may be the result of a blockage in the system.  The air and fuel filters are changed, the spark plugs are replaced, the fuel injectors are checked, and the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valves may be checked as part of an engine tune up.
